ROULETTE – RULES

THE NEED-TO-KNOW ROULETTE RULES

Roulette is a table game where you don’t play against a dealer or any other player. Instead, you’re going to gamble on the amount that you think would win. The online roulette round will see you put your bets on the amount you think the ball is going to land. If the bets are made, the ball is released onto the wheel of the roulette, and until the ball stops, it will do so in the numbered pocket on the wheel. If you bet on that number, you won!

ROULETTE GAME VARIATION RULES

Do you know the different tables are going to have different rules for roulette? There are a number of roulette games, and while they look very similar, they do come with minor differences in the rules. First of all, there are three different types of roulette that you’ll get to know a little better here below. Besides these, you can also see versions of them with added features and styles to offer additional entertainment and betting opportunities.

EUROPEAN ROULETTE

Most of the roulette tables in the world are European roulette tables. The table uses a wheel with a set of 37 numbers ranging from 0 to 36. This table uses the most straightforward betting options, and all the options on the table are shown in English (unless it is a native-speaking table). The European roulette has an RTP of 97.30 per cent, and unless the table specifically states anything else in the table name, it will be a European table.

FRENCH ROULETTE

The French roulette table will also use a 37-number wheel much like the European one. The distinction between the two is that the French table has two extra French Bets and two special rules. The rules in question are La Partage and En Prison, and in a moment, we will explain them further. French bets extend the number of outdoor bets with options such as Voisins du Zeró, Orphelins, Jeu Zeró and Le Tiers du Cylindre. French roulette has an RTP of 97.30 per cent, or 98.65 per cent if La Partage is open.

AMERICANROULETTE

American roulette provides somewhat different roulette rules due to the use of a different roulette wheel. The American roulette table wheel has 38 numbers instead of 37. The explanation for this is the double zero, which is located just opposite the single zero on the wheel. On the felt, the double zero is located next to the single zero, which opens up for unique betting options. As the wheel has an additional number, this table has an RTP of 94.74 per cent.

LIGHTINING ROULETTE

Lightning Roulette is a fascinating version of the European roulette table. A multiplier feature applied to the straight-up bets has been added here. Standard straight-up bet payoff is cut from 35:1 to 30:1, but multipliers up to 500x are added in exchange! Each game round has up to five numbers boosted by a multiplier. If you have made a bet on one of these numbers, you will earn a 30:1 payoff compounded by the multiplier you have designated.

LA PARTAGE RULE

You’re going to find the La Partage rule at every French roulette table, and the rule is in play with any money bet. The law is activated until the ball stops at zero. When this occurs, the bets are cut in two, with half coming back to the player and half going to the casino. As you can guess, tables with this rule are favoured if you decide to position bets that cost 1:1 (Red/Blue, High/Low, Odd/Even).

EN PRISON RULE

The En Prison law is yet another rule unique to the French tables. It’s a variant to La Partage, when it’s activated when the ball arrives at zero, and you’ve made an even-money bet. Usually, you’re going to have to pick between La Partage and En Prison. When En Prison happens, the bet you put will last until the next spin, and if it wins, you’ll get the entire bet back from the previous round, instead of just half as it will be with La Partage.

THE ROULETTE BETS

One of the most thrilling aspects of the real money roulette is the multiple roulette bets available. Where most table games have only one or a few bets; the rules of the roulette allow for a wide number of different bets. Bets are divided into two sections according to the rules of the roulette; inside and outside bets. Names refer to where the bets are put on the felt but also to how high or low risk they are.

INSIDE BETS

Bets put directly on the number grid are considered inside bets. You’re going to be able to gamble straight-up on a figure that offers you the highest possible return, paying 35:1. You may also put bets on four numbers (Corner,) a row of numbers (Street,) two streets (Six Line) or a cluster of 0-4 numbers (Basket.)

OUTSIDE BETS

Outside bets are used to win larger portions of the wheel for a single bet. These bets are structured to offer a better probability of winning but a much smaller payoff. The most common bets are those with a near 50% chance of winning: odd/even, red/black, and high/low. There are also Dozens and Column bets here, which have a slightly lower chance of winning and a higher payout 2:1 compared to 1:1.

RULES FOR MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM BETS

Both online roulette tables would have a cap to how big or small a bet you can place. If these restrictions were not in effect, players would be free to violate the rules of the roulette. Some online casino sites will display the min and max bet limits on the table icon on the website, while others will require you to open the game to see it.

MINIMUM BETS

Before you place your very first bet on the table, you’re going to want to make sure you know what the minimum bet is. The minimum bet is a great way to get to know all the rules of the roulette comfortably. Bets can be offered as low as Rs 8, but most tables have a minimum bet of Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 100 or Rs 200. If you’re using roulette strategy, starting at the lowest possible bet, makes sure your gaming doesn’t get out of hand.

MAXIMUM BETS

If you’re an avid Martingale player, you’ll want to keep a close eye on the maximum allowed bet on the table. Certain tables allow maximum bets of up to Rs 5,000,000, which means that you will be able to place some serious big bets without the risk of being limited in any way. Other roulette strategies may also benefit from a high limit, such as Labouchere or Reverse Martingale.
